InChem Corp. has been recognized as one of the leading companies in South Carolina for outstanding safety records by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation’s (LLR) 2012 Safety Achievement Awards program. The program recognizes companies’ efforts to reduce recordable occupational injuries and illnesses of their workers during the past year.

Only 24 companies throughout the state received this award. And InChem was one of only 12 with 1 million or more work hours without a lost-time injury or work-related illness. InChem’s total was 1.64 million work hours.

“The safety of our workforce is one of our very highest priorities,” said Steve Crownshaw, president of InChem. “This recognition is due to the hard work and diligence of all our people day in and day out, taking care to do things the right way.”

LLR’s 2012 Safety Awards program recognizes companies which reduced and/or eliminated OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) recordable injuries and illnesses between 2011 and 2012. The awards also awarded companies that worked at least 1 million hours without a lost-time accident. Companies must have 100 or more employees to be eligible for the awards.
